Just in case you were ever silly enough to think that Ten was the highest number you could count to using only your fingers, you are wrong.

The highest number you can count to on your fingers is actually 1,023.   This assumes that you are counting in binary, where an extended finger constitutes a “1” value and a finger clenched into the hand represents a “0” value.

And if you really need to count higher, you can count to 59,048 if you count in trinary.   Just use an extended finger as “2”, a half-extended finger as “1” and the clenched into the hand finger for “0”.

Just thought you might want to know that.

Cause you never know when you might need to count to a thousand or more on your hands.
